Peggy: You have something against running away?

Steve: You start runnin', they'll never let you stop
------------------------------------

The two big films opening tomorrow are Captain America: The First Avenger and Friends with Benefits.

Friends with Benefits stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake as two friends who decide to start having sex without being in a romantic relationship. In fact, they are purposely trying to avoid all the Hollywood clichés that you always see in romantic comedies. However, despite their best efforts, their relationship still gets complicated.

This movie actually looks pretty funny and hopefully is A LOT better than No Strings Attached, which starred Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman and had a very similar plot.

Captain America shows us the birth of the Marvel Universe, which includes The Hulk, Iron Man and Thor. Chris Evans play Steve Rogers, a man deemed unfit to serve in the United States Army, so he volunteers for a top-secret research project that turns him into a super soldier. His first mission is to defeat the evil, Nazi-run HYDRA organization and their leader, Red Skull.

It has only been getting mediocre reviews, so far. However, I still plan to see it because this is the final movie before next year's The Avengers which will bring all the Marvel characters together in one place. A film for which I am a little too excited :o)

Other movies opening this weekend in limited release are: Another Earth, Sarah's Key, and The Myth of the American Sleepover.

  1. Although I do not agree with the whole "friends with benefits" thing, this movie actually seems very funny. I am wondering if this is a SNL produced comedy. Catherine, thanks for the hard work. I don't think I would have seen this movie if I had not watched the trailer.
