Charles: Listen to me very carefully, my friend: Killing will not bring you peace.

Erik: Peace was never an option
------------------------------

Opening this weekend is X-Men: First Class. This joins X-Men, X2, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine as the prequel to the franchise.

In this, we find Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr as young men just discovering their mutant powers and looking for others of their kind. We see what events set these men on the path that leads them to where they are in the first X-Men movie. We see their friendship and what ultimately but them on opposite sides of the mutant war.

Familiar characters Professor Charles Xavier, Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto and Mystique are played by younger actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, respectively. Other important roles include Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost and many more.

As I have mentioned before, I am not a comic book fan, but I have enjoyed the four previous films. First Class looks fantastic and has been getting excellent reviews. It was not originally on my list of must-see movies for the summer, but I definitely plan on checking it out.

Also opening, in limited release, this Friday is Beginners, Submarine and Beautiful Boy.
