"Helpin' you kids is about the only good thing I've done in this life."

There are a few big movies out this weekend. They are Moneyball, Abduction, Machine Gun Preacher, Killer Elite and Dolphin Tale.

In Killer Elite, Jason Statham plays a retired member of Britain's Elite Special Air Force who is forced out of retirement when his mentor, played by Robert DeNiro, is captured. He must kill three assassins and their leader, Clive Owen. This movie is based on the novel The Feather Men by Sir Ranulph Fiennes.

Moneyball is based on a true story about Oakland A's manager Billy Beane, played by Brad Pitt. Beane tries to put together a baseball team with a very small budget by using a computer program to asses his players. This movie also stars Jonah Hill, Robin Wright, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Chris Pratt.

Dolphin Tale is based on a true story and is about a boy who finds a dolphin whose tail is caught in a crap trap and must be amputated. The boys' family and friends come together to make a prosthetic tale for the dolphin and teach her how to use it. This movie stars Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr, Kris Kristofferson and Nathan Gamble.

Taylor Lautner plays Nathan who, growing up always felt estranged from his parents, until one day he discovers that as a child he was kidnapped. Just as he is figuring out his true identity he is targeted by trained assassins and must go on the run. Also in this movie are Alfred Molina, Lily Collins, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs and Maria Bello. This basically looks like The Bourne Identity but for teenagers and has been getting horrible reviews.

In Machine Gun Preacher, Gerard Butler plays a former outlaw who finds God and dedicates himself to saving Sudanese children who have been forced to become soldiers. It also stars Michelle Monaghan, Kathy Baker and Michael Shannon. This actually looks pretty interesting and is based on a true story.

Moneyball and Dolphin Tale seem to be getting the best reviews so far, Abduction being the worst of them all. However, since the trailer for Dolphin Tale makes me tear up everytime I watch it, I will probably be seeing Moneyball this weekend :o)

Other films in limited release this weekend include: Thunder Soul, Pearl Jam Twenty and Puncture.
